tonno (tuna)

Il tonno: Tuna is popular in central and southern Italy and especially in Sicily. It may be grilled and served with simple seasonings, but it is also used in soups, stews and pasta dishes. Fresh tuna from the Mediterranean is available in many markets and it is also preserved in oil, tonno sott’olio, which is sold by weight in markets and in tins.
